Environment Partnership

Community Planning Partners in Perth and Kinross want to work with local communities to help create and maintain cleaner, safer and healthier local environments.

The development of such environments requires Community Planning partners to work with our communities and the spatial planning system to ensure that environmental and health outcomes are addressed through:

  • Clean local environments that are litter free
  • Improved air quality
  • Safe, sustainable transport options, and
  • Healthy public spaces that encourage community cohesion and connections

In addition the Scottish Government introduced mandatory Public Sector Climate Change Duties reporting in 2016 for all public sector ‘major players’ (including Local Authorities and the majority of Community Planning partners).

Key areas for the Partnership include:

  • Public attitudes
  • Climate Change
  • Air Quality
  • Water
  • Household waste and recycling rate
  • Fly – tipping
  • Land
  • Conservation
  • Biodiversity
