The Community Plan has been developed by the Perth and Kinross Community Planning Partnership. It sets out our approach to tackling inequalities by:
- working with communities;
- understanding what is important to them; and
- designing more joined-up services which meet their unique and varied needs.
Like all areas, Perth and Kinross faces challenges in the coming years. There are fewer resources available now to local public services than there have been in the past. By having a good Community Plan, we can make sure that the services on Perth and Kinross are working together in the best possible way to address these challenges, and make Perth and Kinross a better place to live and work for everyone.
Some of the most significant challenges we face in Perth and Kinross are:
- An increasing demand for services from our growing and ageing population.
- The growing need for digital inclusion and connectivity,
- Social isolation in our rural communities.
Involving communities in shaping the decisions that impact their lives is key to delivering better services. The Community Planning Partnership recognises the importance of people coming together to make a difference in their communities. We are committed to supporting communities to take action to improve where they live. This could mean a range of things, from running or owning local buildings, or running community groups, to supporting vulnerable people within their community.
The Community Plan will evolve over time to reflect new priorities as services in Perth and Kinross continue to engage with communities to find new solutions to deliver services.
