In 2016 there were 313 crimes recorded per 10,000 population (SIMD2016).

Below is a map outlining crime rates in comparison to the rest of Scotland. This indicator does not take into account the nature of the crimes recorded.

Perth remains a safe place to live. Over the last five years the number of crimes committed has continued to decline, and crime is at its lowest ever level. The number of fire-related injuries shows a decline.

Supporting our most vulnerable people in our communities remains a priority for local services. Local services  target home safety visits to support our proactive approach to reducing unintentional harm in the home.
